Milwaukee Drug Rehabilitation
Milwaukee is without a doubt the largest city in the U.S. State of Wisconsin. Milwaukee is also the 31st most populous city in the entire United States, and it anchors down the 39th most populous Metropolitan Statistical Area in the United States as well. Milwaukee also stands as the county seat of Milwaukee County and is located on the southwestern shore of Lake Michigan in one of the nicest areas of the state.
According to 2010 census data from the United States Census Bureau, the City of Milwaukee has a population of 594,833. Milwaukee is the main cultural and economic center of the Milwaukee–Racine–Waukesha Metropolitan Area with a population of 2,040,498 as of an official 2013 estimate.
As for its history, the first Europeans to pass through the area were French Catholic missionaries and fur traders who hoped to set up a trading post here. Finally, in 1818, the French Canadian explorer Solomon Juneau settled in the area, and in 1846 Juneau’s town combined with two neighboring towns to incorporate as what would finally be the City of Milwaukee. Large numbers of German and other immigrants helped increase the city’s population during the 1840s and the following decades as well.
Milwaukee is known for many things, and it is possibly the most desirable city in all of the state for new families looking to settle down. Known for its brewing traditions, major new additions to the city include things like the Milwaukee River walk, the Wisconsin Center, Miller Park, an internationally renowned addition to the Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, and Pier Wisconsin, as well as major renovations to the UW–Milwaukee Panther Arena. In addition to all of that, many new skyscrapers, condos, lofts and apartments have been constructed in neighborhoods on and near the lakefront and riverbanks, creating a relative boom in the city’s population and economy alike.

Drug addiction and alcohol abuse has always been an issue in Wisconsin and in Milwaukee, but now the issue has reached a new level of severity and damage for those afflicted. In fact, Milwaukee in particular has never seen a drug addiction and abuse issue that is quite as severe as this one.
Heroin in particular, along with opiate prescription drugs, has made a serious resurgence in the city of Milwaukee, and now many of the youth of this city is seriously addicted to these substances. Rehabilitation Sought as a Solution for Addicted Residents
The only saving grace that Milwaukee has to offer to its addicted populace might be the only thing the city needs to cure its rampant drug problem. This is of course the route of inpatient, residential drug and alcohol addiction treatment and rehabilitation centers and programs. At an inpatient rehab center, individuals who are addicted are able to have access to all of the detoxification tools and counseling methods that they so desperately need to be able to break out of the constraints of addiction and to be able to tackle life with a new, revitalized, and rehabilitated viewpoint.
Milwaukee: An Ideal City for Beating a Drug Addiction
Though Milwaukee is struggling quite a bit with its own addiction issues amongst its residents, the city itself still has much to offer to any individual who seriously wants to beat a drug addiction habit here. The city also has much to offer to the family members and loved ones of an addict in rehab here who might want to visit the addict in Milwaukee while he or she is in treatment.
Milwaukee is a popular venue for Lake Michigan sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, ethnic dining, and cultural festivals. Milwaukee has various cultural events which take place throughout the summer at Maier Festival Park, on the lake. Museums and cultural events, such as Jazz in the Park, occur weekly in downtown parks. In fact, Milwaukee is often referred to as the “City of Festivals”.
