Drug Addiction and Substance Abuse on the Rise in San Clemente

Unfortunately, drug and alcohol addiction and substance abuse in general have become major factors in the city of San Clemente.  This has only recently become a major issue, but it certainly is a big issue now and it is showing absolutely no sign of getting any better or going away at all.

The issue is worst amongst the young adult population of the town which is particularly discouraging as addiction and substance abuse affects young adults in far worse a way than it does older adults.  If something is not done soon to try and stop the issue from getting many worse than out most likely will grow into a full on epidemic and crisis.

Facts and Statistics on the Issue

To better understand the crisis as it is truly affecting the area, some facts and statistics have been included below so as to showcase the issue:

•    Crystal meth is easily one of the fastest growing popular drugs in American communities all across the United States and in every area and district.  To shed some light on this, the United States government reported that there were about thirteen million people over the age of twelve who had used methamphetamine at least once in their lives.  The problem with meth is that is creates addiction after just one usage, so it can be estimated that most who have abused it once have also become addicted to it too.

•    Alcohol abuse has become a serious issue in the United States in the last several years alone.  The effect that this has had on the children of alcohol abusers is unacceptable.  In the U.S. today, nearly a full seventeen percent of all children under the age of fourteen sadly have the misfortune of living with a parent who has a serious drinking problem.  As the children get older too, the statistic only gets worse.  Truthfully, over twenty percent of children under eighteen live with a parent who drinks heavily or has an alcohol addiction crisis.

Rehabilitation: How Addicted Residents of San Clemente are Beating Addiction

There is no doubt in anyone’s mind at all at this point that drug and alcohol addiction has begun to have a very terrible effect upon the residents of San Clemente. This issue has been getting worse and worse and worse and worse for over a decade now. In fact, substance abuse in the United States in general has now gotten so bad that the Center for Disease Control and Prevention along with the National Institute on Drug Abuse proclaimed that the addiction crisis in the nation was now at the level of being and actual epidemic. This certainly rings true with the issue as it is currently happening in San Clemente. For years now the area has suffered more and more at the hands of addiction.

Increased trafficking of drugs and narcotics from Mexico coupled with more youths abusing drugs and alcohol than ever before exacerbated by intensified alcohol abuse among grown adults has all spelled out a major addiction crisis for San Clemente. To top it all off, San Clemente is now a hotspot for prescription drug abuse, which is potentially the most dangerous type of drug abuse issue in the entire nation. It is feared that, if something is not done soon then substance abuse in general will become the main problem in San Clemente and potentially that entire area too. This is why it is more important now than ever to look to solutions to the crisis.

This is where inpatient, residential, drug and alcohol addiction and dependence treatment centers, detox facilities, rehabilitation programs, and recovery organizations come into play. These are the types of programs that are going to do the most good, and save the most lives in San Clemente. With a course patient rehabilitation program, anyone who is addicted in San Clemente no matter how heavily addicted they might be can once and for all finally gain freedom and happiness and sobriety on a lasting level. With these types of programs, the most good can be done on a very permanent level.

At an inpatient rehab, and addicted individual from San Clemente will be able to address all of the physical and mental aspects of his or her addiction and will be able to conquer addiction with a total life overhaul. This is of course of the most importance because if addiction is not addressed properly it will come back. The successes of inpatient rehabilitation programs have given many in San Clemente a glimpse of hope that they had not had for a very long time. Because of the success of this approach, it is now being recommended that all who are addicted in San Clemente seek out and go through an inpatient rehabilitation program as soon as is possible. The benefits are infinite, as curing addiction will not only benefit the addict himself or herself, but it will also benefit his or her family, friends, coworkers, and the entire community in general.
