Pinole is a pleasant and lovely city in Contra Costa County, in the state of California, in the United States of America. The population was 18,390 at the 2010 census as reported by the United States Census Bureau.  Pinole is classic, American, middle class city, and it has been growing in its economy and its population lately too.

The median income for a household in the city was $62,256 all in all, and the median income for a family was $70,172 all told. Males had a median income of $47,335 versus $38,019 for females. The per capita income for the city ranked in at $25,170 altogether. About 3.5% of families and 5.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 5.5% of those under age 18 and 8.0% of those aged 65 or over.  This is above average for income, below average for poverty and for unemployment.

Drug and Alcohol Abuse Wages War in Pinole

Sadly, the truth of the matter is that wherever a rise in an area’s population will go, so will follow a rise in drug abuse and addiction issues too.  This has even been a major problem in the entire state of California and in the nation for that matter too.  For example:

Perhaps the most concerning aspect with drug and alcohol addiction today has been with the increase in substance abuse amongst general, working-class Americans. In recent years the middle class has begun to get targeted for drug dealing and drug pushing in general a lot more than they ever were, and the result has been a strong percentage of this nation’s working, middle-class being addicted to drugs and alcohol. The middle class drives the life force of the nation, so having a heavy percentage of them addicted to drugs and alcohol is quite concerning for the future of the nation as well as for their own lives personally.

Alcohol use and abuse in the United States has gotten out of hand.  The prevalence of drinking alone is concerning. In 2014, about ninety percent of people of the age of 18 or older reported that they drank alcohol at some point in their lifetime.  Roughly seventy percent of Americans 18 or older reported that they drank in the past year, and sixty percent reported that they drank in the past month.

Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation is the ultimate key to resolving addiction in Pinole.  With prior rehabilitation, anyone who is addicted to anything, no matter who they are or what they are addicted to, can beat addiction once and for all.

However, it takes a specific type of rehab program for each individual.  There is no one size fits all rehab approach.  There’s no magic bullet or single treatment that works for anyone and everyone. When considering a rehab program to go to, one must remember that everyone’s needs are different, and that different rehab approaches will work differently on different people.  Realistically and if it’s possible, drug and alcohol addiction treatment should be customized to each individual’s unique problems and situation. It’s important that everyone who needs treatment can then find a program that feels right for them.

Here’s what proper treatment should look like for those living in Pinole:

1. Treatment should address more than just a drug abuse problem.  This is especially needed in Pinole as the city’s addicts have other problems too that need to be contended with. Addiction affects an individual’s whole life, including his or her relationships, career, health, and last but not least their psychological well-being. Treatment success typically depends on developing a new way of living for each and every individual, and on addressing the reasons why each person turned to drugs in the first place. No one just becomes an addict randomly.  For some, it may have been because of an inability to manage stress, in which case they will need to find healthy ways to handle stressful situations, and rehab should and needs to be able to help them with that.

2. Commitment and follow-through are key.  Addiction is not something one got over night, and it’s not something one will get rid of overnight. Drug addiction treatment is not a quick and easy process by any means at all.  Realistically, inpatient treatment in Pinole needs to last for no less than three months for all addicts, and aftercare and follow up needs to occur for at least a year after that. Generally speaking, the longer and more intense the drug use is, the longer and more intense the treatment the person will need. Since most who are addicted in Pinole have been using and abusing drugs and alcohol for some time, they will mostly need intensive treatment for a long period of time. Keep in mind though, regardless of the treatment program’s length in weeks or months, long-term follow-up care is crucial to recovery in Pinole.

3. There are many places to turn for help with an addiction.  Those addicted in Pinole need to remember that they are not alone, and that they have multiple options in treatment. Not everybody requires medically supervised detox or an extended stint in rehab for example. The level of care each individual addict in Pinole needs depends on their age, drug use history, and other medical or psychiatric conditions too. In addition to doctors and psychologists, many clergy members, social workers, and counselors offer addiction treatment services too.

Rehabilitation will do great things for those addicted in Pinole.  This is a city and general area that needs quite a bit of help, but with the proper rehab program the issue here can become a thing of the past rather quickly.
