Patterson is a well-known and rather desired city in Stanislaus County, in the state of California, in the United States of America, located off of Interstate 5. It is just a mere twenty-seven miles southeast of Tracy and is part of the Modesto Metropolitan Statistical Area too, and it contributes greatly to the overall economy of this metro area.

Patterson has a few different lovely things going for it. For example, it is known as the “Apricot Capital of the World”, as the entire town holds an annual Apricot Fiesta to celebrate with many drinks, food, desserts, and games that not only gets the entire community involved, but that also attracts tourists from all around the nation too.

Patterson has been expanding on its local events and activities.  In the past two years Patterson has been the site of the Fiestas Patrias celebration for one thing, commemorating the independence of various Latin American countries and nations.  This celebration is held in mid-September.  Furthermore Patterson is known for its farmer’s markets, its art shows, and its overall dedication to the growth of the city’s population and economy.

The population was estimated to be 21,212 at the 2014 United States Census, but the population has been increasingly pretty steadily in a short amount of time.  This is a city that is most definitely putting its name on the map for the overall central California area.

Drug and Alcohol Addiction Follows Patterson

Sadly, wherever population and economic growth goes and makes an impression, so does follow drug and alcohol abuse and addiction issues and problems of one kind or another.  This has definitely been the concern and the major problem in Patterson and it has been for some time now. This crisis has been a very real one to say the least and has shown little to no signs of going down, reducing, or dropping away any time soon.

What has occurred here is that drug traffickers and dealers in bigger, more urban and more metropolitan areas got wind of what was occurring in the Modesto area with the growth of the overall population and of the economy too.  Many such criminals moved their operations to this area, preferring to focus on smaller, upper-middle class towns rather than trying to scrape a living with broke junkies in major urban areas.  Since about 2010, Patterson in particular has seemed to accrue a pretty serious and significant drug problem that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon.

Rehabilitation Sought in Patterson

Drug and alcohol addiction has taken its toll on Patterson in more than one way.  This is a city that for years now has felt the stresses and economic depravities and personal grievances of drug and alcohol addiction and substance abuse in general.  In fact, Patterson on a strictly per capita basis is thought to have one of the worst drug problems in the entire nation.  Time after time after time after time drug and alcohol abuse has been seen to take yet another drastic toll on the happiness and the success of the residents of Patterson.  This has often taken locals by surprise.  After all, Patterson is not a particularly large or developed city, but it certainly has seemed to accrue a drug problem the likes of which one would usually only see in bigger cities.

Regardless of how Patterson came to accrue such intensive drug and alcohol problems, the truth of the matter is that something needs to be done sooner rather than later to properly address these issues.  For example, Patterson needs to take a bite out of its drug problem before the issue begins to take over.

The best way for Patterson to properly address its drug and alcohol addiction crisis is with inpatient, residential, drug and alcohol addiction and dependence treatment centers, detox facilities, rehab programs, and recovery organizations.  With inpatient rehab, it actually does become possible for those addicted in Patterson to really make a change and to turn their lives around for the better.

Inpatient rehab not only focuses on rehabilitating individuals from their drug and alcohol addiction, but it also focuses on taking individuals who are addicted, freeing them from addiction and then inserting them back into society as recovered and freed individuals who have succeeded in winning the battle against drug and alcohol addiction and substance abuse in general.  This is the key and this is by far the most important thing that stands out about rehab above and beyond the actual rehabilitative factor itself.  If Patterson is able to get all of their addicted residents through rehab, then they will actually return home as not only sober individuals, but also as responsible, active, contributing, intelligent, and powerful adults.  This will really turn things around for the better in Patterson.
