A Brief Summary, Analysis, and Review of the City of Mission Viejo

Mission Viejo is a rather affluent and successful city located in beautiful southern Orange County, California, in the United States.  The city rests peacefully in the Saddleback Valley.  Mission Viejo is actually known for being considered to be one of the largest master-planned communities ever built under a single project in the entire United States, and is rivaled only by Highlands Ranch, Colorado in its overall size and breadth.  The city’s population as of 2014 was estimated at 96,346, making it a mid-sized city.

Mission Viejo is suburban in nature and culture both.  The city is of course mainly residential, although there are a number of offices and businesses within its city limits as well.  The city is instantly recognized and well known for its picturesque, beautiful tree-lined neighborhoods and exquisite parks.  As a result for the city’s arboreal efforts, the city of Mission Viejo received recognition from the National Arbor Day Foundation for both of these endeavors in fact.  The city’s name is a reference to Rancho Mission Viejo, a large Spanish land grant and historical Mission from which the community was founded.

To add to the city’s fame and recognition, Mission Viejo was named the safest city in the United States by the Morgan Quitno crime statistic survey, (compiled from Federal Bureau of Investigation data).  The city was also ranked safest in California and third in the nation by CQ Press too.

Drug Addiction and Substance Abuse Hits Hard in Mission Viejo

An interesting thing that occurred closely following the economic crisis of 2007 and 2008 was that many drug crime rings and trafficking cartels changed their method of approach.  What occurred here was that drug criminals could no longer make the same amounts of money off of their usual clientele in major urban areas thanks to the economic crisis.  The major change that occurred was that drug criminals began to spread their sphere of influence outwards from metropolitan areas and into mid-sized cities and smaller cities both.  In doing so, populous, affluent, and relatively well-off cities like Mission Viejo began to be targeted the most.  This was sad to say the least, and many residents and visitors alike to Mission Viejo began to suffer from it greatly.

The problem here is that towns and cities like Mission Viejo and including Mission Viejo had never really struggled with this problem before, and therefore didn’t really know how to address it.  But sure enough, young adults in Mission Viejo and cities like it have been targeted a lot lately for drug trafficking, drug addiction, and general substance abuse.  If something isn’t done soon, then the entire area may very well begin to experience a full on addiction epidemic.

Facts and Statistics: Critical Data on Addiction in Mission Viejo and Areas Like It

To better understand the crisis as it currently stands in Mission Viejo, some facts and statistics have been included below that apply to the specifically dangerous and damaging drug addiction crisis as it is currently occurring in the entire United States.  This information has been included so as to provide the reader with some context as to just how severe of an addiction issue that this area is truly facing:

• Sadly, youth alcohol abuse is also out of control.  The rate of overall current alcohol use among youths of the age of 12 to 17 was 11.6 percent in the year 2013.  Youth binge and heavy drinking rates in 2013 were 6.2 and 2.2 percent, respectively.  Essentially this means that one out of every ten teenagers drinks from time to time, one out of every thirty teen agers binge drinks, and one out of every fifty teens are actually addicted to alcohol.

• Among the American adults of the age of 26 or older, the rate of current illicit drug use in the year 2013, (coming in at 7.3 percent), was similar to the rate in 2012, (7.0 percent), but it was higher than the rates in the years measured from 2002 to 2011, (ranging from 5.5 to 6.6 percent).

Rehabilitation: A Sure Way Out of an Addiction Nightmare for Those Afflicted in Mission Viejo

Thankfully, there does exist one very stable and finite cure for addiction, and this is of course a path though and to the completion of a full and complete inpatient, residential, drug and alcohol addiction and dependence treatment center, detox facility, rehabilitation program, and recovery organization.  With such a program anyone who is addicted to anything in Mission Viejo can finally go free from addiction once and for all.  With this type of program even those who are so horrendously addicted that even the thought of getting clean is alien to them, even they can find freedom and sobriety from drugs and alcohol.

Inpatient rehab is far more successful than any other type of rehab simply because of the types of services and programs offered at an inpatient rehab center.  At an inpatient rehab center one will get fully detoxed which does wonders for chemical dependence.  Once this is completed, one who is addicted in Mission Viejo will then move on to rehab.  Detox is only the first step because detox just handles the physical effects of drug and alcohol addiction.  In rehab, one will address and resolve the mental aspects of addiction too with startling clarity and sincerity.  Once this is completed, one can finally begin to explore life as a fully cleaned up and rehabbed individual.
