About the City of Menifee: A Little About the City and the Surrounding Area

Menifee is a quaint and lovely city in Southern California.  This is a popular, bedroom city that is in southwestern Riverside County, in the state of California, in the United States.  While this city stands alone as its own separate entity, the city is in fact a part of the Los Angeles Combined Statistical Area.  Located as it is nearly 8 miles north of Murrieta, the city is roughly 50 square miles in size making it an ideal, mid-sized city and urban area.  The city of Menifee initially had a population of about 77,519 as of the 2010 United States Census, and is anticipated to reach 100,000 by the year 2020.  Needless to say the city has been growing quite a bit in recent years, and the pull to the city has been quite tremendous.  The incorporated City of Menifee includes the communities of Menifee, Sun City, Quail Valley, Paloma Valley and portions of Romoland.

As for its history, early development of the Menifee area began with Sun City in the early 1960s as the concept of an active retirement community envisioned by Del Webb, a building contractor from Phoenix, Arizona.  The idea here was to make Menifee into a retirement town and a business commuter’s place to live.  Mr. Webb also developed Sun City, Arizona under the same concept, as Sun City had been quite successful there.  The city itself is a centrally located neighborhood with a mix of residential and commercial activity both.

Drug Addiction and Substance Abuse: A Cruel Fate for Those Afflicted in Menifee

Sadly, in this day and age it is often the most pleasant and the most peaceful towns, businesses, and cities that attract the most drug trafficking and substance abuse in general.  For the part time and the permanent residents of Los Angeles, they might consider moving to Menifee.  This is because the city offers much to the new resident.  Unfortunately, this is much of what happened with drug dealers and traffickers.

Sadly, it’s areas like this that get targeted the most by drug dealing and addiction these days, and for a town like Menifee, if something isn’t done about it soon then the issue will only get much, much worse.

Facts and Statistics: What is Really Occurring in Menifee

To better understand the addiction issue in Menifee, some facts and statistics have been included below that are relevant and pertinent to the issue:

•    Alcohol always seems to show up whenever there is a crime or an accident, and in actual fact alcohol is perhaps best known for being a factor in nearly forty percent of any and all violent crimes.  Based on victim perceptions and how they feel about their individual situations, about 2.7 million violent crimes occurred each year in which victims were certain that the offender had been drinking to a greater or lesser degree, and many of these assertions were proven accurate by the offenders apprehension and incarceration.

•    Methamphetamine use and abuse is the rise in the United States, and the drug led to 10,447 visits to emergency departments in the year 1999.  Methamphetamine also contributed to nearly 500 deaths in 1998, the last year for which data is available.  It is extrapolated however, that the death toll from meth has all but skyrocketed.

•    Someone who smokes five joints per week may be taking in as many cancer-causing chemicals as someone who smokes a pack of cigarettes every single day, as marijuana is more potent and damaging to the lungs than cigarettes are.  In the year 1995, 165,000 people entering drug treatment programs reported marijuana as their primary drug of abuse, showing they need help to stop using the drug, disproving previous claims that marijuana was not actually addictive at all.
