The city of Lemoore, (formerly known as La Tache and Lee Moore’s), is a city in Kings County, in the state of California, in the United States of America. Lemoore is located about 7.5 miles west-southwest of the city of Hanford, at an elevation of no less than 230 feet.  Today it is part of the Hanford–Corcoran Metropolitan Statistical Area, and is best known for being one of the pleasant, outlying, bedroom communities of some of the bigger California cities.  The population was 24,531 at the 2010 Census as reported by the United States Census Bureau. The California Department of Finance estimated that Lemoore’s population was 26,199 on January 1, 2016.

Lemoore has done pretty well for itself, and it has become a bustling and successful city to say the least.  The economy of the city though is still to this day struggling in the wake of the economic crisis of 2007, 2008, and 2009.  At the time of the 2010 census, the median income for a household in the city was $40,314, and the median income for a family was $44,006. Males had a median income of $34,726 versus $25,759 for females. The per capita income for the city was $15,876. About 11.4% of families and 13.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including 18.2% of those under age 18 and 11.3% of those aged 65 or over. The estimated unemployment rate in January 2016 was 10.2%

Major employers in Lemoore include Naval Air Station Lemoore, Tachi Palace, Leprino Foods and Olam International, but there still doesn’t seem to be quite enough jobs to go around here, or at least not nearly as much as there should be to really support the city successfully.

Drug and Alcohol Abuse and Addiction Hits Hard in and Around Lemoore

Sadly, there does seem to be a strong spread of addiction problems in and around the city and the general area of Lemoore too.  This has been going on for some time now with no real sign or indication of it going down or diminishing any time soon at all.  This issue has been a steady and severe one to say the least and it has made a difficult impact on the residents of the city whether they themselves are addicted or not.  Truthfully though, Lemoore is by no means the only city so afflicted and affected by drug and alcohol addiction and substance abuse in general.  Several other cities all across the nation have been suffering quite a bit too from these issues and problems.  For example:

Heroin abuse is on the rise again in the United States.  This has caused a lot of upset and rightly so.  After lying almost completely dormant for over a full two decades, heroin abuse has skyrocketed in the U.S. in tandem with increases in opiate pain reliever abuse too.  To get the rough numbers on this, the 2007 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, (NSDUH), reported that there were approximately no less than 153,000 current heroin users in the United States in the year 2007.  Other estimates by other unofficial institutions give figures as high as 900,000, and by the year 2015 the number skyrocketed to over two million.

Rehabilitation Sought as a Solution for the Addiction Problem

Addiction has become a serious problem in Lemoore and it has been that way for some time now.  Since the turn of the century substance abuse has become all too prevalent all across the nation, but even then some cities have experienced these aspects more so than others, and Lemoore is one such city.  Though it is not a large city by any means at all, substance abuse has still struck a chord and to a marked degree has changes the city greatly.  On a per capita basis going off of how many individuals are affected versus the overall size of the city in general, Lemoore truly has one of the worst drug problems in this sector of the state.

What can be done about this problem?  To properly and effectively address drug and alcohol addiction and substance abuse in general in a way that actually effectively handles it once and for all it is required that all those who are addicted to drugs and alcohol go into and through a full and complete inpatient, residential, drug and alcohol addiction and dependence treatment center, detox facility, rehab program, and recovery organization.  This is needed and wanted though, as this truly is the only way to really effectively handle this dismal situation once and for all.

Rehab helps in two major and basic ways.  The first is with detox.  With proper detoxification, it is finally possible to eradicate the effects of chemical addiction in anyone who is so afflicted.  Detoxification is the key to beating substance abuse from a physical and body-related standpoint, and detox is what ultimately handles physical and chemical dependence.

The second aspect of addiction recovery that is offered to those addicted in Lemoore is with counseling and therapy and all of the different techniques and skills that are used to beat addiction from a mental, psychological, spiritual, and personal level.  This is truly useful and beneficial, and with these techniques it suddenly becomes possible for those addicted and afflicted with substance abuse problems to really be able to win the battle against drug and alcohol addiction and substance abuse problems once and for all.
