Laguna Hills is a lovely and pleasant city in Orange County, in the state of California, in the United States of America.  Its name refers to its proximity to Laguna Canyon and the much older Laguna Beach too.  Other newer cities nearby—Laguna Niguel and Laguna Woods—are similarly named and recognized too.

Laguna Hills is historically known for being built on one of the major land grants developed during the rancho era of California.  Following Mexico’s independence from Spain in 1821, those who had served in the government or who had friends in authority, were given vast lands for cattle grazing and for farming. Rancho Lomas de Santiago, Rancho San Joaquin, and Rancho Niguel covered much of the western portion of the Saddleback Valley. Don Juan Avila was granted the 13,000 Rancho Niguel on which Laguna Hills is located.  This land is still in excellent shape as a result of its history of being well tended to and taken care of.

Addiction Strike Hard in a Once Addiction Free City

Sadly, the turn of the century brought on some pretty grim and dismal changes in and around Laguna Hills.  This is a city that has suffered time and time again from economic crisis, drought, natural disasters, etc.  Now it is suffering big with drug and alcohol abuse and addiction.  This is a problem that has been growing in severity and in a big way all across the nation in fact, but the issue really hasn’t made itself as open and common as it has now and in smaller, middle class cities like Laguna Hills.

Cities like these suffer the most because it is now the American middle class that is being targeted the most when it comes to drug and alcohol abuse, trafficking, and dealing.  Without a doubt, these issues are only going to worsen and worsen more and more until the whole area is totally overrun if nothing is done about it.

Recent years have been pretty rough in Laguna Hills as problem after problem after problem have abounded thanks to substance abuse, drug addiction, and alcohol addiction. All added up, these problems have not only been growing in severity in Laguna Hills but they have also created other problems of their own.

Laguna Hills went from a sleepy and quiet town to a hustling and bustling city in a matter of years. As this happened, so did occur a steady increase in substance abuse within the city. This happened because drug dealers and traffickers saw Laguna Hills’s population increase as a chance to set up shop in a new and popular area.

The result of all this trouble is that Laguna Hills now has one of the worst addiction problems per capita in the state. This doesn’t just bode ill for the residents themselves, but it also is really troublesome for their family members and loved ones. Many residents of Laguna Hills who are not themselves addicted have a family member who is.

In light of these troubled times, many have tried to figure out the best way to address the addiction issue. For some, the solution has been to try to quit on their own, though this almost never works.
