Hollister is a lovely, mid-sized California city in and the county seat of San Benito County, in the state of California, in the United States. The population of the city ranked in at 34,928 at the 2010 census as reported by the United States Census Bureau. Hollister is primarily an agricultural town, though the city has begun to attract more and more tourists there every single year.  For example, the Hollister Hills Vehicular Recreation Area, southwest of the main town, draws over 100,000 vehicles per year.

Hollister, a town known for having a strong, typical Central California independence and charm, was established by ranchers and farmers in the year of 1872. Throughout Hollister’s history, people who have settled here have talked of being fortunate enough to reside in such a remarkable community that kept its small town feel while still contracting the support and infrastructure of a bigger city.

Hollister, while being itself one of the fastest growing communities in all of California during the past decade, still maintains the quality of living that has brought people there from around the nation.  The city is known for its staunch resilience through hard economic times and its ability to bounce back from state-wide difficulties.  Through natural disasters and tough economic times, the people of Hollister have shown resilience and a special pride in Community that is unique to the city alone.

The land around the city, like the city of Hollister, has its own strength and charm, far enough away from crowds and larger urban and metropolitan areas to be able to offer very competitive prices for undeveloped property.  At the same time though these places are yet close enough to city conveniences to share a cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Located in San Benito County, Hollister is served by major California highways and has one of the few remaining executive airports in the entire country for that matter.  The city is known best now for agriculture and tourism and business.

Addiction Making a Pronounced Appearance in and Around the City of Hollister

Substance abuse, drug addiction, and alcohol addiction has been creating a major wave all across the nation since the turn of the century.  The problem really never has been this bad.  Truthfully, California is one of the states that has been affected the worst.  Many cities in California have experienced a strong increase in the levels of substance abuse, drug crime, drug-caused and related accidents and injuries, and drug deaths, and Hollister is no different.

Drug abuse, alcohol abuse, and the whole problem of addiction has become a near-crisis for the youth of the state of California.  For Hollister, the cities separation from the big city life has not kept it safe from this spread. Many of Hollister’s young adult population has become the sad result of addiction and many more stand at risk of experiencing the same grim fate.  There has to be a solution to this problem, or many more of Hollister’s youth will suffer before too long.

Rehabilitation of Addiction through an Inpatient Center: What Can Be Done in Hollister

All hope is not lost for someone who is addicted to drugs and alcohol, no matter how heavily addicted they might be.  In fact, addiction is a severe problem indeed but that does not mean that it is the end of the world for those who are addicted.  The truth of the matter is that rehabilitation stands as what might be the single most successful way to resolve and to fight addiction in anyone who is afflicted and addicted to drugs and alcohol.

The truth of the matter is, though addiction is a powerful illness of the mind and body, it is not the end of the world for those who are addicted by any means at all.  In fact, it doesn’t mean the end of the world for anyone necessarily, though tens of thousands do sadly lose their lives from addiction every year.

Death and other grievances that come along with abusing drugs and alcohol does not have to occur when rehabilitation exists as a valuable course of action for those who are addicted.  In Hollister, addiction can be completely done away with by those who are addicted there taking a course through an inpatient, residential, drug and alcohol addiction and dependence treatment center, detox facility, rehabilitation program, and recovery organization.  This is without a doubt the most successful way to beat addiction, and it is also the safest.

Hollister existed for decades with almost no substance abuse whatsoever.  The city can easily go back to that.  It is a simple matter of getting the addicted residents there through rehabilitation in CA and into a lifestyle of sobriety.  Once this is done, the problem will cease to persist.  Now more than ever it is important for those addicted in and around the area who are addicted to rise up to the challenge of taking their lives back and effecting positive change for themselves and those around them.
