About the City of Hesperia, California

Hesperia is a pleasant city in San Bernardino County, in the state of California, in the United States.  The city is located in the beautiful Mojave Desert, just 35 miles north of San Bernardino. The locals refer to the surrounding area as the High Desert.  2015 census estimates report that the City has a total population of 92,755 all in all, showing significant growth since the 2010 United States Census Bureau publication.

Hesperia is a relatively young city, but it has grown much and has made a name for itself more recently.  The city has many attractions as well that bring in tourists and new residents alike.  For example the city has its own manmade lake, (Hesperia Lake Park), on the southeastern edge of the town.  This lake is where various town activities are held too, including the annual Hesperia Day activities.  Camping and fishing are permitted here, as well as Day Kamp and various junior leagues for sports too.

Hesperia has invested in other attractions too, to try and grow this city and attract more residents.  The city does not have a huge business or economical center like bigger nearby cities do, so Hesperia’s main goal has been to push hard for population and residence growth, and the city’s dedication to creating a wide plethora of attractions is the proof of that.

Hesperia’s golf course is known for its narrow fairways and fast greens both, and this course attracts many.  During the 50s and 60s, this course was a stop along the PGA Golf Tour too.  Hesperia is also the home of Cal-Earth, a nonprofit organization demonstrating and teaching effectively a method of home construction, particularly for arid hot areas, called Super Adobe.  The city is innovative and pleasant, and many are attracted there to visit or to live.

Drug Addiction and Substance Abuse Climbing High in the City of Hesperia

Unfortunately, as is the case in many other California cities, drug addiction and substance abuse has been growing basically out of control in more recent years.  True enough, this is a pretty serious issue and it has not been corrected and it has only grown more and more serious and severe as the years have gone by.  Without a doubt, this issue is major and basic, and if something is not done soon about it then it will certainly develop into a major addiction crisis and epidemic.

The biggest issue with drug abuse in Hesperia is that of drug abuse amongst young adults, specifically cocaine and heroin abuse amongst young adults.  These drugs are being trafficked into the country from Mexico at previously unprecedented levels ever before, and the issue has in fact gotten so severe that the Drug Enforcement Agency, (DEA), has been scrambling to try and avert the coming and imminent drug abuse catastrophe.  Without a doubt, the issue is a major one and cocaine and heroin have permeated Hesperia and he surrounding areas like never before.  While the following facts pertain more to nationwide drug abuse, they can certainly be applied to Hesperia as well:

• The number of past year first time cocaine initiates was 601,000 in the year 2013, which was similar to the numbers in 2008 to 2012, but was actually and miraculously lower than the estimates from 2002 through 2007.  To add to it, the number of crack cocaine initiates was 58,000 in the year 2013, which was similar to the estimates in 2009 to 2012, but was also miraculously lower than the estimates from 2002 through 2008.  On the flip side though, it is thought that the only reason why first time statistics for the use and abuse of cocaine is down is because first time meth abuse has skyrocketed.

• In the year of 2013, there were a full and alarming 169,000 persons of the age of 12 or older who used heroin for the first time within the past year alone, which was much higher than the estimates in 2002 to 2005 and from 2007 to 2012.  To add to it, several hundred thousand Americans used heroin for the first time in 2014 and 2015 as the drug is now being used to substitute for opiate prescription pills.

Rehabilitation: Winning the Battle Against Addiction Once and for All

For those who are addicted to drugs in Hesperia, there is really only one way out of the trap that can actually create a permanent recovery and overall sobriety for the individual.  This path of course rests in taking a course through an inpatient, residential, drug and alcohol addiction and dependence treatment center, detox facility, rehab program, and recovery organization.  With such a course through such a program, truly anyone who is addicted in Hesperia can win the battle against addiction once and for all.

The thing about addiction that makes it so difficult to win the battle against it is the fact that addiction affects individuals on so many levels and in so many different forms and ways.  This is why rehab in CA is necessary to beat addiction, because only inpatient rehabs have all of the tools necessary to address all facets and aspects of addiction successfully.
