About the City and the Surrounding Areas of Danville, California

The ever present and ever beautiful Town of Danville is located in the San Ramon Valley in Contra Costa County, in the state of California, in the United States. It is one of the few incorporated municipalities in California that uses “town” in its name instead of “city”. The population was 42,039 in 2010 as reported by the United States Census Bureau.

Danville hosts a farmer’s market each Saturday next to the San Ramon Valley Museum that has begun to attract a significant number of tourists on a growing scale every single year.

The Iron Horse Regional Trail runs through Danville too. It was first a railroad that has been converted to an 80-foot wide corridor of bike and hike trails as well as controlled intersections. Extending from Dublin to Concord, the trail passes through Danville and has many stops a long the way.

Of further interest, the Danville Library hosts a number of community events, such as the annual Halloween activities for kids and book sales too.  The Museum of the San Ramon Valley is located in downtown Danville and hosts regional history exhibits and traveling shows in the converted railroad station adjacent to the Iron Horse Regional Trail.  All in all, this is a highly cultured and prosperous city that puts a lot of effort into making it an ideal place for tourists and residents alike.

Facts and Statistics on a Rising Drug Problem in Danville

Sadly, for some time now Danville has accrued a big drug problem as a result of its prosperity and economic success.  In addition, drug and alcohol use and abuse have been on the rise all across the nation for some time now.  For example:

•    In recent years, heroin has become incredibly popular amongst many different demographics in the United States. This is concerning, to say the least. Prior to the turn of the century, heroin was only interesting to very key demographics. Now upper-middle-class Americans and women abuse heroin a lot, which was previously almost unheard of.

•    Drugs and alcohol are almost responsible for the highest percentage of preventable deaths in the United States. Truthfully, only smoking and obesity cause more preventable deaths than substance abuse does. Still, though, substance abuse causes over 80,000 American deaths every single year.

•    No other nation has a prescription drug abuse problem like the United States does. The United States only holds a mere 5% of the entire world population, but in one year the nation will consume more than 80% of the entire planets supply of prescription drugs. This is over medicating and prescription drug abuse at its worst.

Rehabilitation Brought to the Table as a Powerful and Successful Solution to Addiction

In recent years there has been a lot of concern back and forth about rising substance abuse problems in and around Danville. This has caused quite a bit of concern, especially amongst the families who have a drug or alcohol addicted family member. Prior to the turn of the century, Danville didn’t really struggle a whole lot with substance abuse issues. Now, however, that has all changed in this area is now a substance abuse Hotspot for that entire geographic area.

In times like these, the residents and local neighbors of Danville have been hard pressed to find a solution that property addresses their substance abuse problem. This is not always the easiest thing to find. The tricky thing about substance abuse and addiction, in general, is that it affects everyone differently, no one rehabilitation program is going to be able to cure every single addict. There is one form of rehabilitation though that does offer a lot of help and assistance to those who are addicted. This is speaking of course of inpatient, residential, drug and alcohol addiction and dependence treatment centers, detox facilities, rehabilitation programs, and recovery organizations. With the help of a program like this, the addiction problem in Danville, for no matter who is addicted, can finally be addressed and handled properly.

Inpatient rehabilitation can literally cure anyone of addiction because no two inpatient rehabilitation centers are the same. Yes, this type of rehabilitation can seem similar center to center, but the individual programs themselves are quite different. In this way, individual substance abusers can pick and choose their own different type of rehabilitation program that will best suit their needs. Inpatient rehabilitation is so effective for a couple different reasons:

1.    First of all, inpatient rehabilitation programs offer detoxification services. With detox, one will be totally and completely weaned down off of whatever chemical substances are still in his or her system. This is highly effective and beneficial.

2.    Inpatient rehabilitation centers also have the most effective, the most highly sought after, and the most diverse array is of counseling approaches imaginable. With different types of counseling, an addicted individual is able to fully address and eradicate the mental and psychological aspects of substance abuse and addiction. This too is highly necessary and needed.

Though addiction is certainly a scourge in and of itself in the Danville, that does not mean that it has to control Danville like it has been. Help exists for those who are addicted, and this help comes from inpatient rehabilitation programs.
