About the City of Bell Gardens

Bell Gardens is a well-known city in Los Angeles County, in the state of California. The population was 42,072 at the 2010 census as reported by the United States Census Bureau, down from 44,054 at the older, 2000 census.

Bell Gardens is probably most notable for being one of only six Los Angeles County cities, (out of 88 counties total), to permit casino gambling (the others being Inglewood, Gardena, Commerce, Compton, and Hawaiian Gardens). Dice games and slot machines are forbidden by state law though.

On the downside, according to California Watch, Bell Gardens has the highest percentage of residents who have not completed ninth grade, (44.9%), of any California city.  The Bicycle Casino is a large gambling establishment located in Bell Gardens too and contributes to some of the debauchery here. The Bicycle Casino has been the venue for several major poker tournaments including the Legends of Poker tournament and Winnin’ O’ the Green too.  It was considered one of the largest poker casinos in the world after expansion in the 1990s.

Drug Addiction and Substance Abuse on the Rise in and Around Bell Gardens

Sadly, this has for some time now been a city that has had problems with drug and alcohol abuse and, in a big way, addiction too.  The issue has gradually worsened time and time again with newer and newer problems steadily worsening as the years have gone by to the point where the issues could not really get any worse without a micro epidemic essentially taking over the city instead.

Facts and Statistics on the Drug Crisis in and Around Bell Gardens and the Nation as a Whole

To better understand the addiction issues in and around Bell Gardens, some facts and statistics have been included below that could potentially put the nation’s drug and alcohol addiction problems in stark relief:

•    A big problem in America today has been with cocaine abuse. This drug was all but gone from the American drug scene by the end of the 1990s. With the advent of crystal meth though, (a drug that produces a similar high as cocaine does), cocaine started to become popular again as more and more addicts began to switch back and forth between cocaine and meth.

•    Drug addiction, alcohol addiction, and substance abuse has definitely been on the rise in the United States. Most residents now know this. What they don’t know is the drug that is causing the most damage is a drug that makes a lot of Americans very wealthy, and this is prescription drugs. These drugs have more Americans addicted and dying from them than any other type of drugs or all other drugs combined in fact.

Inpatient Rehabilitation Sought as a Solution for Substance Abuse Problems in Bell Gardens

No one wants to have to confront addiction, and no one wants to have anything to do with addiction whatsoever.  This is the case though, and it is the case in a big way in Bell Gardens.  For some time now this is an issue that has been steadily worsening more and more and more as the years have gone by to the point where it is now feared that the issue will actually overload the city if it is not dealt with.

So how does one, “deal with”, addiction.  Addiction is inherently almost impossible to get rid of, hence the fact that it is an addiction after all.  However, there does exist one sure way to beat drug and alcohol addiction once and for all and this is of course referring to inpatient, residential, drug and alcohol addiction and dependence treatment centers, detox facilities, rehab programs, and recovery organizations.  With proper rehab, anyone who is addicted to anything no matter what it is and how long they have been addicted to it, literally anyone can win the battle against addiction once and for all.

1.    Inpatient rehab helps in two major and sincere ways.  The first is through detoxification.  With detox, anyone who is addicted or afflicted can beat the habit successfully and once and for all pretty quickly too.  With detox, the whole concentration is eradicating chemical dependence to drugs and alcohol.  If this is done properly then one will no longer crave drug and alcohol substances.

2.    The next major way that rehab helps is through the actual rehabilitation program itself.  With rehab, one can literally and very successfully lash out against and win against addiction once and for all and for good too.  Rehab itself contains a wide plethora of one on one counseling, group therapy, life skills, electives, relapse prevention, coping strategies, and other methods that all inevitably add up to a  fighting chance at beating addiction once and for all.  If these steps are followed properly and closely than addiction will be beaten once and for all and for good.

It is well worth the while of those addicted in and around Bell Gardens to fight against addiction through inpatient rehabilitation.  With rehab, the terrible situation in Bell Gardens can finally change for good.
