About the City if Alameda: The City in Review and in Summary

Alameda is a city in Alameda County, in the state of California, in the United States.  It is conveniently located on Alameda Island and Bay Farm Island, and is easily positioned and adjacent to and west of Oakland and in eastern San Francisco Bay across from San Francisco and South San Francisco, in the infamous, ever stylish, and always beautiful San Francisco Bay Area. Bay Farm Island, a portion of which is also known as, “Harbor Bay Isle”, is not actually an island, and is part of the mainland adjacent to the Oakland International Airport.

The city’s estimated 2014 population was 75,988 as reported by the United States Census Bureau.  Alameda is a charter city, (rather than a general law city), allowing the city to provide for any form of government that it wants to have.  Alameda became a charter city and adopted a council–manager government in 1916, which it retains to the present.

The city has been quite successful and has grown much in the last few years.  The city still offers the appeal of a Bay Area city, but it does not carry the price tag to live there that San Francisco has.  In truth, this is a city that has had a lot of attention put on to it recently and for good reasons.

Drug Addiction on the Rise in Alameda

Sadly, drug addiction and substance abuse in general has been now become an issue in a very big way in Alameda.  This is because of the simple fact that, because it used to be so small, never really used to struggle with drug addiction and substance abuse prior to the turn of the century.  Now however, the issue has changed here quite a bit.  The sad fact of the matter is that the city is suffering quite a bit from drug dealing, trafficking, abuse, addiction, and crime within the very city itself.

Drug abuse and addiction has run rampant though the United States for some years now, and the effect that this has had on Alameda is no different and in many ways is much worse than in other areas too.  If something is not done soon about it, it is feared that addiction will basically take over here.

Facts and Statistics on Different Addictions in the United States

Listed below is some real world data on the addiction issue in Alameda and in the U.S. today:

•    LSD is growing in popularity among young adults with 4.2 percent of those ages 15 to 24 in the United States having used the drug at some point in their young lives.  Inhalants are far easier to come across too now than ever before, and that may account for the 22.9 plus million people in America who have indulged in inhalant experimentation at least one time.  All in all, more Americans are experimenting with more types of drugs than ever before in the nation’s history.

•    Hallucinogens like Ecstasy are a part of the lives of easily at least a full one million Americans if not more.  To add to it, at least four million people are using some form of amphetamines like crystal meth.   This issue is particularly serious among young adults.  In fact, according to the Monitoring the Future survey, seniors in high school reporting past-year non-prescribed use of amphetamines went from six percent in 2008 to well over nine percent in the year 2013.

Rehab: How One can Win Against Addiction Once and for All in the Alameda

In the United States today, and particularly in Alameda, there are few things that cause more worry than drug and alcohol addiction and dependence.  Since the turn of the century, addiction has been on the rise in a very big way, and is in fact now far more serious and severe in the nation today than it ever, ever, ever has been before.  This is a serious issues and it has been responsible for untold sorry and worry in Alameda.  Thankfully though and with much relief, addiction can be completely and one-hundred percent resolved and eradicated with a course through an inpatient, residential, drug and alcohol addiction and dependence treatment center, detox facility, rehab program, and recovery organization.

It is inpatient rehab that must be gone through.  No other approach will provide one with quite the experience or quite the adventure that inpatient rehab will offer.  This has been the case for some time, and inpatient rehab centers have set themselves up to be by far the most successful approach of them all thanks to the extensive services offered there.  It is a combination of the detox facility and the rehab program itself that has given inpatient rehabs so much success in the past.

With detox, one can finally address and eradicate any and all aspects of chemical addiction and dependence.  This is crucial because one cannot concentrate on recovery if one is still chemically hooked on drugs in Alameda.  When this is done, rehab is next and all the counseling and therapy offered there-in will completely cure mental addiction.  With these two approaches, inpatient rehab will save anyone addicted in Alameda from addiction.  This is a very worthy goal to work towards, as living with addiction offers no joy or happiness to anyone who is so addicted and afflicted.  With rehab in California though, one literally gets a second chance.
